Montana Montgomery, the daughter of Andrew “Monty” Montgomery who founded Mont Adventure equipment in the 1970’s, is the brainchild behind Mawson’s. Montana would like to grow the retail chain into a true Australian icon. The store itself has been named after such an icon, Sir Douglas Mawson, who was also her father’s inspiration for establishing Mont Adventure. Mawson himself was also the inspiration for the retailers tagline: Equipped for Adventure. 

Every Mawson's store is designed to have a raw, earthy, unrefined feel. Mawson's is selling a lifestyle and the staff are here to help with you prepare for your next adventure. Mawson's only stocks elite brands and best of the best outdoor “gear”.

Mawson’s flagship store is be located in Fortitude Valley in Brisbane with the intention of opening more stores in capital cities across Australia.
